The Greene County Recycling Department hosts community events and reports all township recycling data to the Department of Environmental Protection. The Greene County Recycling Department is in charge of updating the County Solid Waste Management Plan and applies for all applicable recycling grants. For more information, please see below.

Electronics Recycling:

Electronics Recycling:

The County of Greene would like to announce that two Electronic Recycling Collection events will be held for 2024. These events will be held at the Greene County Fairgrounds on May 15th and September 18th from 2pm to 6pm. Greene County Employees and JVS employees will adhere to all CDC regulations and recommendations. For more information about these events, please call 724-852-5300.

Basic Rules for Electronics Recycling Events:

NEW THIS YEAR: NO LIMIT ON TVS

Participants are asked to stay in their vehicles and follow CDC recommendations.

No fee to recycle electronics except:

  • TV's with busted glass: $50.00
  • Freon appliances: $25.00 each for Freon removal.
  • Fluorescent light bulbs: $2.00

 Prescription & over-the-counter solid medications
 Tablets and capsules
 Pet medications
 Anonymous drop-off
 No liquids or needles
 Remove identification from bottle or put the pills in a zipped plastic bag (pills may be mixed).

Church Street entrance.
 Mon-Fri from 8 am to 4pm

2. Cumberland Twp. Police Department
100 Municipal Road, Carmichaels.
24 hours a day, seven days a week. *Call 724-852-2911 if an officer is not available

3. State Police
255 Elm DR. Waynesburg
24 hours a day, seven days a week
