- Domestic Violence Program:
Domestic violence is a crime of epidemic proportions that plagues communities and causes permanent emotional scars, life-threatening injuries, and even death. Without appropriate intervention, domestic violence increases in frequency and severity over time. By systematically destroying families, domestic violence compromises the quality of all lives.
The Greene County Women's Center, a satellite office of Washington Women's Shelter, Inc., is a local resource for women and their children who are abused or threatened with abuse. The center is located at 43 West Morgan Street in Waynesburg. For more information, call the center at 724-852-2463.
- Victim/Witness Services Program:
At any time, anyone can become the victim or witness of a crime. Victims have no choice in becoming victims and may find themselves alone and helpless without resources. The Victim/Witness Services program was created to help with the trauma and confusion the victim suffers as a result of the commission of a crime. The
Greene County Drug Task Force is operated by the District Attorney's Office through the County Detective's Office. It is composed of members of local police departments and members of the Greene County Detective's Office. The detectives serve on the task force in addition to their regular duties as police officers and draw upon their experience to recognize, evaluate and eradicate drug trafficking in Greene County.
