Greene County IDD Program Receives Prestigious Award from the Office of Developmental Programs

Waynesburg, PA– The Greene County Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD) Program is proud to announce that it has been honored with the 2024 PA Regional Collaborative for Supporting Families Award, presented by the Office of Developmental Programs (ODP). Greene County was one of only two counties in the state to receive this prestigious recognition. The award was presented during the Communities of Practice Summit held on August 14th and 15th, where counties across Pennsylvania gathered to discuss and share strategies for improving support for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families.

The PA Regional Collaborative for Supporting Families focuses on bringing together diverse individuals, families, and community partners to:

Identify what people and families need to feel supported
Develop and implement strategies to meet these needs through local collaboration and partnerships
Engage in conversations that improve systems to better support individuals with disabilities

By participating in the collaborative, Greene County has demonstrated its commitment to improving support systems and fostering community partnerships that make a tangible difference in the lives of people with developmental disabilities and their families.

“We are deeply honored to receive this recognition,” said Deneen Shrader, Administrator of the Greene County IDD Program. “This award reflects the hard work and dedication of our team and community partners, all of whom share the common goal of ensuring that individuals and families in Greene County have the resources and support they need to thrive.”
