WAYNESBURG – Elections are made possible by citizens participating in the voting process and serving as poll workers across Pennsylvania. Greene County still needs additional poll workers for the May 18, 2021 Municipal Election. Poll workers are paid for their day of service. If you are interested in becoming a poll worker, fill out the PA Poll Worker Interest Form on the Greene County Elections Office website; https://www.co.greene.pa.us/department-elections-voter-registration. All county residents that meet the following criteria are eligible to be a poll worker:
•Must be registered to vote in the county where you wish to work
•Cannot be a government official or employee
•Cannot have your name on the current ballot (see exceptions below)
oIf you are a current elected Judge of Elections or Inspector and seeking re-election on the current ballot, you MAY work your polling location.
oIf you are a current poll worker and are running for an office OTHER than Judge of Elections or Inspector you may NOT work the polls.
•Poll workers are required to work the entire day on election day
Greene County poll worker classes have been scheduled for the upcoming primary election for May 3rd, 4th, and 5th. Classes will be held daily at 9:30A.M., 2:00P.M. and 5:30P.M. at the Greene County Fairgrounds. You are only required to attend one class.
