The Greene County Board of Elections was made aware of several mistakes on the mail-in and absentee ballots. One mistake listed two races for magisterial district judge, when the ballots should have listed just one contest or none at all.
The corrective action approved by the Elections Board on October 18, is to cancel all previously mailed ballots and re-send corrected ballots. The incorrect ballots will be voided in the electronic scanning system and even if returned, will not be counted. Every absentee and mail-in voter will use the new, corrected ballot.
There will be a note in the corrected ballot envelop explaining the mistake, as well as acknowledging that the new ballot is the only one to be sent back to the Elections Office. Individual absentee and mail-in voters may also hand deliver their ballots to the Greene County Elections Office between 08:30 and 4:30 weekdays through November 7. Individual ballots may only be delivered by that specific registered voter.
Additional information can be obtained through the Greene County Elections Office or by calling 724-852-5399.
