During the conference’s Awards Ceremony on Aug. 6, the Commissioners accepted the Excellence in Website Design Award.
Commissioners worked with their staff to team up with Blue Archer, a Pittsburgh web design and development company, to upgrade and redesign the County of Greene website, www.co.greene.pa.us.
CCAP created its CCAP County Excellence in Website Awards in 2010 to honor counties for outstanding communication, both internal and external, through the use of innovative design, content, accessibility, and best practices.
The awards celebrate the best of the best and reflect the scope, creativity and importance of website communications and design in county government.
Greene County took first place honors in the 4th through 8th class county category; according to CCAP, the county “created recent website enhancements leading to accessible, modern designs with increased functionality and expanded information.”
The award focuses on content, organization/ease of use, function, design, accessibility, standards, innovation and team size.
“It is indeed a tremendous honor to receive this award, because it symbolizes all of the months and months of work and dedication brought forth from everyone involved in updating the County of Greene website,” said Commissioner Blair Zimmerman. “A great deal of effort went into making this a great website, and this award is proof of that.”
Commissioner Dave Coder agreed, adding that he and his fellow Commissioners are proud of the website’s new design and options.
“The County of Greene has long incorporated an efficient website that residents could use to receive information and resources pertaining to all of the county departments,” Coder said. “However, we are excited about the positive changes to the website that will help residents obtain whatever they are searching for in an easier, more efficient and faster capacity.”
Commissioner Archie Trader said he encourages everyone to visit the website and see the changes for themselves.
“Searching for information about county departments is easier now, as is navigating throughout the entire site,” Trader said. “It is a much more ‘user friendly’ site and I commend everyone who joined us in working on it for their hard work and efforts.”
