Greene County Human Services Housing Program will be assisting with applications for the CARES RRP (Rent Relief Program) for financial assistance offered through Pennsylvania Housing Finance Agency (PHFA). Applications are available now.
Renters and Landlords can apply. All CARES RRP payments will be disbursed to the landlord. Funds are available to assist lessees with rent incurred beginning March 1, 2020, all assistance is subject to the availability funds and eligibility for the program.
Applications can be completed online, by mail or in person. PHFA will determine eligibility, Greene County Human Services Housing Program will assist to ensure that applications are complete and properly submitted. Applications for rental assistance is easily accessible from PHFA’s homepage

PHFA also has a Pandemic Mortgage Assistance Program (PMAP) for homeowners who became unemployed after March 1, 2020. The application for Mortgages can be found on:

For more information, PHFA call center is available weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. to assist the public and help with questions about the program.
The toll-free number is 1-855-U- Are- Home (827-3466). Callers should listen for the prompt mentioning CARES assistance for renters and homeowners.
Greene County Humans Service Housing Program will also be able to be reached Monday-Friday for 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 P.m. at 724-852-5276 and ask for the CARES Rental Assistance Program.
