County Commissioners congratulate Morgan Township Supervisor
Commissioners Blair Zimmerman, Dave Coder and Archie Trader would like to congratulate Chairman Shirl Barnhart of the Morgan Township Board of Supervisors on his election to serve a one-year term as president of the Pennsylvania State Association of Township Supervisors.
Shirl Barnhart, who is chairman of Morgan Township Board of Supervisors, was elected to serve a one-year term as president of the statewide association during its 94th annual Educational Conference and Trade Show in Hershey this week. Since joining the PSATS Executive Board in 2002, Barnhart climbed the leadership ladder to its highest position.

Jefferson Morgan Regional Council of Governments (JMRCOG): was created in 2004 and includes Jefferson Township, Morgan Township, Clarksville Borough, Jefferson Borough and Rices Landing Borough. The council was created to allow the municipalities to purchase equipment and materials at a lower cost as well as pull their resources in times of need.

Effective August 12, 2008, the Jefferson Morgan Regional Council of Governments enacted a new Multi-Municipal zoning ordinance. The ordinance covers Jefferson Township, Jefferson Borough, Morgan Township, and Clarksville Borough. Rices Landing Borough has it's own ordinance.

Thistlethwaite Family Vineyard and Winery in Morgan Township in Jefferson, PA located about two miles north of Jefferson. The 200-acre Thistlethwaite family farm dates back to 1892, however at the turn of the century, the younger generation of Thistlethwaite's began planting grape vines. Which has now harvesting and producing a variety of wines, and is open to the public. Thistlethwaite is the first commercial winery to operating the Greene County with grapes grown solely on its own land.
