Greene County government employees following holiday observances previously scheduled and are recognized as legal paid holidays for all regular full-time employees. The paid legal holiday for these observances fall on the days determined annually by the county's Human Resouces Office and approved by the Board of Commissioners.

The Greene County Courthouse and the adjoining County Government offices are open to the public Monday through Friday from 8:30 A.M. until 4:30 P.M., with the exception of the following holidays:

Please remember that individual offices may not follow the above holiday schedule, plus may maintain different operating hours, so consult the individual offices and/or webpages for more information. Definite exceptions would be the Offices of Transportation, Emergency Management/911 Center and the County Prison, which do not necessarily follow the above holiday schedule.
The paid legal holiday for the above observances shall be on those days determined annually by the Board of Commissioners.
Holidays observed during an employee’s vacation would be considered a holiday and not a vacation day.
In order to qualify for paid holiday time, employees must be in compensable status the last scheduled work day before the holiday and the first scheduled work day immediately following the holiday.
Holiday time is paid at each eligible employee’s straight time pay rate. All eligible regular full-time employees shall be paid the equivalent of seven (7), seven and a half (7.5), eight (8) or twelve (12) hours, or straight time pay for each holiday. All eligible regular part-time and temporary employees shall be paid based on the number of hours the employee would have otherwise worked on that day.
The County of Greene respects the right of each employee to worship as his/her faith dictates. Employees may apply earned unused personal days or vacation days for other religious holidays which they may desire to observe.
