  • PUBLIC NOTICE: VETERANS DAY PARADES & SERVICES ANNOUNCED:

    • Nov. 10 - USMC Birthday Party:   A Birthday Party will be held November 10, 2017 at 7:00 PM at the Carmichaels VFW! All U.S. Marines & U.S. Navy veterans are invited to attend. A special ceremony with occur during the evening of celebration! As Directed by: Carmichaels VFW Post

    • Nov. 11 - Jefferson American Legion:   The Filer-Sadlek Post 954, Jefferson will hold its Annual Veterans Day Parade on November 11, 2017. Participants will form at the Jefferson Fire Hall, others unable to march up the hill can either ride or assemble at the Methodist Church Parking Lot/Senior Center; with the parade beginning at approximately 10:45 AM; then stopping in front of the American Legion at approximately 11:00 AM with the Honor Guard saluting our departed comrades/21 Gun Salute.

      The parade includes the Jefferson-Morgan Jr.-Sr. High School Band, the West Greene High School Band and the James D. Randolph Kiltie Band; which then commences to the Jefferson-Morgan Jr.-Sr. High School. The program will begin approximately 11:30 AM Ė 12:00 PM in the Stanley Fowler Auditorium, the speaker of the day will be Sarah A. Smith, U.S. Navy Veteran/E-4 & Veterans Director/VSO for the County of Greene.

      Following the program, the Post 954 will conduct their Post Everlasting Ceremony, memorializing eleven (11) members of Post 954 who have passed away since November 11th Veterans Day 2016. As Directed by: Thomas Shumaker, Adjutant

    • Nov. 11 - Waynesburg Veterans Day Parade, sponsored by the Veterans Council of Greene County:   the Waynesburg Veterans Day Parade will be held on November 11, 2017 in Waynesburg, PA. The community is invited to come out to thank our veteransí past and present who have sacrificed their lives for our great nation. Veterans in the County of Greene will be recognized for their service & dedication to the US Military.

      The line-up begins at 8:30 AM at the First Baptist Church parking lot on West Church Street in Waynesburg, PA. With the parade start time at 9:30 AM (others to participate in the parade will join at Belkoís parking lot & PNC parking lot. The parade will proceed down High Street to the Greene County Courthouse in the Borough of Waynesburg; with the Parade Marshall being a World War II Veteran. The honor goes to Ralph Conklin age 93 who served on the USS Kenneth M. Willett DE 354 from 1944-1946.

      The program will take place on the Courthouse steps/portico following the parade with the Guest Speaker to be announced at a later date. Other participants in the program are as follows: James L. Farrell Post 330 American Legion; along with the Waynesburg VFW Post 4793 as the Honor Guard with the 21 Gun Salute. Then immediately following the program food & refreshments are provided by the Waynesburg VFW Post 4793 at 455 Lincoln Street served Ladies Auxiliary for all veterans and the public.     • Nov. 11 - Carmichaels American Legion:   Carmichaels American Legion Post 400 will hold a service on November 11, 2017 at the Post beginning at 11:00 AM. They will start with the 21Gun Salute to honor our departed comrades outside the Legion Post. The program will continue inside the Legion with the Legion Band performing a variety of songs; along with the presentation of the MIA & POW Table by Commander William Ross. The speaker of the day will be Representative Pam Snyder. Then immediately following a luncheon will be provided for all in attendance. As Directed by: William Ross, Commander

    • Nov. 12 - Veterans Service at Rogersville:   The Rogersville United Methodist Church will hold a special service for Veterans Day at 11:00 AM Sunday, November 12, 2017 at the church located at 102 Church Street, Rogersville, PA; which will be the Sunday morning worship service presented by Pastor Cynthia Deter. Special music and message will be presented. All veterans are invited to attend and will be recognized for their service to our country; with a luncheon to follow.     • Nov. 15 - Harvey's-Aleppo Grange Hall in Graysville:   will be having a Veterans Appreciation Evening to honor veterans of any of the US Armed Forces. The veterans in attendance will be presented with a certificate; with respect, honor & gratitude to all. The program will be held on November 15, 2017 at 7:00 PM. Representative Pam Snyder and other dignitaries will be present.

  • PUBLIC NOTICE: VETERANS DAY HOLIDAY CLOSURE SCHEDULE (posted Oct. 17, 2017)

    • Greene County Government Offices will be closed in observance of Veterans Day on Friday, November 10, 2017. Exceptions to the holiday would be Emergency Management/911 Center, the Greene County Prison, and the Transportation Office.

      Greene County Government Offices will reopen at 8:30 am on Monday, November 13, 2017. FMI, contact the individual offices for further information, or call the County Commissioners Office at 724-852-5210.

    • The Greene County Transportation Office will be closed Friday, November 10, 2017 in observance of Veterans Day except for scheduled dialysis trips reserved by 12:00 pm on Thursday, November 9, 2017. Our office will reopen Monday, November 13, 2017 at 7:00AM.

      All Greene County Transportation clients should schedule NO LATER than 12:00 PM (noon) on Thursday, November 9, 2017 for Monday, November 13, 2017.

  • PUBLIC NOTICE: ONLINE ACCESS TO RECORDED DOCUMENTS (posted Sep.1, 2017)
    Pennsylvania is divided into 67 recorder districts or a corresponding office with an elected Recorder of Deeds responsible for each office. Documents related to the ownership of real estate within the district are recorded at the Recorder of Deeds.

    Recorded documents are assigned a sequential identifying number (known as the book and page number) and are then scanned into the Recorderís Office computer system. The resulting images are available for viewing and printing from public access terminals at the Recorderís Office and at home or the office over the Internet. All original documents are returned to land owners or their attorneys. To assist customers in finding relevant documents, the Recorderís Office creates a searchable index that contains the names of all parties to a document and the property address.

    To access and view a document, customers must first register/subscribe. A small fee will be charged to access the online service prior to accessing any records.
    1. To register/subscribe for years 1940 through present, simply visit Pennsylvania Land Records Online. Once registered, customers will be able to search and view documents during those years.

      To view any image, customers will be charged for the entire document at the rate of $0.50 per page, with a maximum charge of $5 per document. Customers will be able to see the number of pages on the results screen before viewing the document. While viewing the document, customers will have the option to print one page or multiple pages.
    2. To register/subscribe for years 1796 through 1941, go to: Cott Systems online to login, register, and access land records. Variable accounts are available for a fee.

    Notice is hereby given that the TAX CLAIM BUREAU OF GREENE COUNTY, PA, will hold a delinquent tax sale under the Real Estate Tax Sale Law. P.L. 1368, as amended, at 8:30 A.M. prevailing time, Wednesday, the 20th day of September 2017 at the Greene County Courthouse, Waynesburg, Pennsylvania, for the purpose of collecting unpaid taxes, municipal claims and all costs incident thereto. The described properties will be sold at a bid equal to the upset sale price or higher. The upset sale price is approximately set forth in this notice.   • PUBLIC NOTICE   2018 Greene County Hazard Mitigation Plan Update (6/14/2017)
    Notice is hereby given that the Greene County Department of Emergency Services is in the process of updating the Greene County Hazard Mitigation Plan. Public meetings will be conducted to inform the public about the hazard mitigation plan and to gather public input and participation in the 2018 hazard mitigation plan update. The dates, times and locations of these public meetings will be outlined in future public notices. The update process will run from May 1, 2017 to May 1, 2018.
