Several local organizations have partnered to provide funding for this initiative which includes a social media campaign, promotional materials, and give-a-ways items. Seventeen businesses signed on to the network in 2013 and nearly 50 consumers pledged to spend a total of $4,829/month at local businesses through out online survey.

The Buy Local, Buy Greene campaign is successful due to the partnership of Community Bank, Greene County Conservation District, Greene County Tourism, University of Pittsburgh Small Business Development Center, Wayensburg Area Chamber of Commerce, Waynesburg Prosperous & Beautiful, and Waynesburg University Center for Research and Economic Development. The conservation district provides technical assistance in reaching agricultural communities in Greene County.
